The U.S. Department of the Treasury has reason to believe the Beltran Leyva Organization began to reorganize and expand in Sinaloa two years ago.
The U.S. government agency also recalled that this cartel has maintained since 2008 “A bloody war against rival organizations led by Joaquin ' El Chapo ' Guzman Loera and the Sinaloa cartel". Right now they are fine tuning their resurgence to try to control the drug business in Sinaloa.
“We have been closely monitoring the resurgence of the Beltran Leyva organization and their fighting for greater involvement in drug trafficking in Mexico," said the Director of the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC ) of the Treasury Department , Adam J. Szubin .
The U.S. Department of the Treasury also added Arnoldo Villa Sanchez to its list of most wanted men, Arnoldo Villa Sanchez is a drug trafficker linked to Beltran Leyva group , a security company in Guadalajara was also identified as part of this network.
According to current United States law, the inclusion of persons or companies in this list represents a ban by the U.S. Department of the Treasury for individuals or U.S. companies to establish commercial agreements with them and freezing any assets held in the United States.
Villa Sánchez (also known as Erick Rene Calderon Sanchez ) was identified as a "violent security chief of Hector Beltran Leyva , leader of the Beltran Leyva drug trafficking organization ."
The Department of the Treasury also noted that Villa Sánchez is the main shareholder of “Sistema Elite de Seguridad Privada”, a security company installed in Guadalajara and with more than 150 employees on its payroll.
The State Department maintains a reward offer of up to five million dollars for information that leads to the capture of Hector Beltran Leyva, Mexican authorities offer the equivalent of two million dollars.
Alfredo Beltran Leyva , former leader of the group, was arrested in January 2008 in Mexico , while Marcos Arturo Beltran Leyva was killed by the Mexican army in 2009. After Arturo´s death, Hector Beltran assumed command of the organization.
In just over a decade OFAC has designated more than 1,300 companies and some 103 people linked to drug traffickers in various countries.

NOTE: Alfredo Beltran Leyva aka "El Mochomo" was to be set free last month, right now I have not been able to find any info on him, the new Government of Peña Nieto is trying to keep things quiet, thus making finding any info more difficult than before.
