Guasave: inhabitants from different parts of the municipality witnessed a intense military operation on July 7th, first in Norotillos and then in a subdivision of the city .
At the last location, there was the arrest of two people, one of them, is reportedly, and unofficially, Carlos Salmon Higuera , nicknamed "El Macaco" alleged leader of a criminal cell in the region and a lieutenant for Chapo Isidro (Beltran Leyva). Isidro and his wife are depicted in the photo at left.
Speculations have surrounded the name of El Macaco, for days.Mulitple BB readers have sent in notice of either his death, or capture, but until today there has been thing written in the media. Today El Debate has a short article that he was captured.
The El Debate report noted authorities have not confirmed the capture.
Here is how the rumors say it transpired:
At around 10:30 reports stated there was a shootout near Central Camionera Regional and la Unidad de Medicina Familiar. The reports indicated the military operation approached a safe house and was greeted by a hail of bullets.
The safehouse was on Adolfo López Mateos Blvd, in la colonia Del Bosque. Supposedly, the military operation lasted several hours and two helicopters arrived on the scene where two detainees were loaded on for transfer.
Children were reported as being present in the safehouse.
When the rumors began spreading, it was confusing, because around the same time authorities officially, and finally, confirmed the death of Salmon Higuera’s brother, Eleobardo Salmon Higuera, “El Chichi”, who was killed in a June 21 shootout between Federal elements and Chapo Isisdro’s men.
