A drug trafficker for Damaso López Núñez, akaEl licenciado,(Mini Lic) and two others bodyguards were killed Friday night in a shootout, between criminal cells.
The drug operator of the Sinaloa cartel named Stephen Espinoza Velazquez and was known as Pantera .
Killed along with him were Jesus Enrique Portillo Urquiza, known as the Ferrari and Alberto Montero Lizarraga,a young bodyguard from Mazatlan.
The incident occurred between the people in four vehicles around 21:00 pm at height 7 km road leading from La Paz to Los Planes. Besides the three dead, officials said that others sustained serious injury.
So far the reason for the conflict is unknown. The PGR has not given official information.
Journalists in the area unofficially established that the four vehicles were, a Nissan Nitro, Volkswagen Jetta and Chevrolet Pickup truck, Cheyenne, along with a four-wheeler.
Elements of the Navy of Mexico, and State Ministerial Police were dispatched to the scene and mounted a heavy security, which included several checkpoints on Luis Donaldo Colosio Blvd. to the area of the colonia Agua Escondida.
The road to Los Planes was completely closed , and only police and paramedics were allowed through.
