According to Valor por Tamaulipas, “Comandante Salinas” of the Los Metros faction of the Gulf Cartel was killed yesterday in a shootout with federal forces who were attempting to arrest him in the area of Miguel Alemán. Also known as M32, his full name is rumored to be Joaquin Rafael Salinas Aparicio.
“Comandante Salinas” was once in charge of the plaza of Camargo, but was moved to Miguel Alemán in May of 2013 following complaints that he had obtained approximately 3 million pesos from kidnappings (the victims of which were allegedly tortured) and virtual kidnappings, the majority of which were single women and widows.
