This is a video of the audio of yesterdays shootout, near the Revolucion bridge and the neighborhood of colonia voluntades.
The shootout began around 6:30PM and at least three gunmen and a state police officer died in the confrontation , officials reported.
On twitter Coahuila state authorities reported that it was a GATE element killed in the action. GATE is a Special Forces agency of the neighboring state of Coahuila.
The chase began in Hidalgo, which sit on the far NE Coahuila border of Tamaulipas they were conducting surveillance in. When they spotted several vehicles with gunmen on board.
The officers attempted a stop, and the gunmen open fired, GATE returned fire, the gunmen fled at that point and a chase ensued with the exchange of gunfire along the way.
The GATE officer was killed at kilometer 42 of the highway 2 Riparian on Hidalgo-Nuevo Laredo hwy.
The chase ended in Nuevo Laredo Voluntades neighborhood adjacent to the Revolucion Bridge, which is represented in the audio below.
