The trial against José Rodrigo Aréchiga Gamboa, considered the main Sinaloa Cartel hit man , will be determined in 2015 after his defense requested more time again to a judge in order to evaluate the evidence against them. The new hearing is set for March, 2015.

This is the third appearance of Chino Antrax, who was extradited last July to the United States after being arrested in the Netherlands, to face charges for alleged conspiracy to import and distribute methamphetamine, cocaine, and marijuana in the United States border .

Handcuffed, Aréchiga Gamboa, 34, heard the hearing in the Federal Court of San Diego (California ) through an electronic translator. Unlike other occasions, his family did not attend the court session.

As in the previous hearing, his attorney Frank Ragen asked the magistrate Dana Sabraw to give him more time to analyze the evidence against his client. The charges include "tens of thousands of files" recollected in over two years by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).

Part of inquiry refers to 50 drug seizures made in Mexico and the United States and other countries.

His attorney considered that the government "underestimated" the amount of information concerning this case, which said  more time is needed to prepare the defense" of his client.

He also mentioned that some of this evidence involves investigations where the name of his client is not explicitly mentioned.

The judge accepted the petition, calling it " fair". The next hearing was set for March 6, 2015. This next court hearing will make more details of the investigation available to the public. It will also possibly indicate the exact date of his sentence.

The US Attorney for the Southern District of California has linked the case of "Chino Antrax" to the investigation against Serafin Zambada, son of one of the leaders of the Sinaloa Cartel, Ismael "El Mayo" Zambada.

Serafin Zambada, 24, pleaded guilty in late September before the same judge, for the crime of conspiracy to traffic drugs, which could receive a minimum sentence of ten years imprisonment.
Zambada, who is a US citizen, is scheduled to a hearing on May 2015.
