In the wake of a 14 year prison sentence being given to the Flores twins, who were first indicted in 2009, came the announcement that United States officials in Chicago had issued an eighth superseding indictment to that initial 2009 case targeting the Sinaloa Cartel, as well as three new indictments.
- Joaquín Archivaldo "El Chapo" Guzmán Loera, who is currently in Mexican custody
- Jesús Alfredo "Jags" Guzmán Salazar, 31 years old, a son of "El Chapo"
- Ismael "El Mayo" Zambada Garcia
- Heriberto "Capi Beto" Zazueta Godoy, 54 years old
- Victor Manuel "El Lic Vicc" Felix Beltran, 27 years old
- Jesus Raul "Trevol" Beltran Leon, who is in Mexican custody, 31 years old
- Hector Miguel "Mv" Valencia Ortega, 33 years old
- Jorge Mario "Choclos" Valenzuela Verdugo, 32 years old
- Guadalupe "Don Julio" Fernandez Valencia, 54 years old
The superseded indictment lists nine defendants:
Charges are pending on the following, who were all listed as defendants on previous versions of this indictment: 44 year old Felipe "El Inge" Cabrera Sarabia, currently in Mexican custody, German Olivares (apparently referring to Germán Magaña Pasos, who used that name as an alias as well as "El Paisa"), and 27 year old Edgar Manuel "Fox" Valencia Ortega, who is currently in custody in Chicago awaiting a status hearing on February 19.
Also listed in previous versions of the indictment were 39 year old Jesus Vicente "El Vicentillo"
Zambada Niebla and 45 year old Tomas Arevalo Renteria, who have both plead guilty and are awaiting sentencing, and 59 year old Alfredo Vasquez Hernandez, who received a 22 year old prison sentence in November following a guilty plea.
As for the new indictments, 38 year old Alvaro "Panda" Anguiano Hernandez and 38 year old Jorge Martin Torres are defendants charged with being money launderers for the Sinaloa Cartel. Jorge Martin Torres is specified as having purchased a 1982 Cessna Turbo 210 that was refurbished and transferred from Ohio to Mexico.Each of them were arrested in the United States at different times in November of last year
The third indictment was issued against 26 year old Elgin, Illinois resident Venancio "Benny" Covarrubias on narcotics importation and distribution conspiracy charges. He was arrested in October of last year.
