Federal security elements captured Daniel Quintero Riestra, ‘El Dany Quintero’, an alleged plaza leader for the New Generation Jalisco Cartel in Guadalajara.
'El Dany Quintero' was arrested in Cancun by soldiers and staff of the Attorney General's Office (PGR).
Quintero Riestra is said to be the administrative manager in distribution of drugs in the Guadalajara area and responsible for killing Jesus Alvarez Gallegos, who served as Minister of Tourism in Jalisco, during the administration of Aristotle Sandoval, on orders from Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, 'El Mencho'.
At a press conference, an official said Quintero Riestra was arrested, without firing any shots, while he was on a boat ride three nautical miles from Isla Mujeres.
The Jalisco plaza boss has arrest warrants on charges of kidnapping and murder.
