La Piedad among the most violent Towns
Until the first trimester of this year, the social organization Semaforo said that these Towns were the ones with the greatest incidences of criminality in the State, among the others were Morelia, Apatzingan and Lazaro Cardenas.
La Piedad surprisingly with 24 red alerts about assassinations and woundings that have been denounced by the citizens. Additionally it is one of the few town that has had red alert status in respect of kidnappings too.
The violence in La Piedad has incremented recently because of the presence of the CJNG during this year, after the disarticulation of the Knights Templar cartel in the State.
