Elvis González Valencia was answering the “call of nature” when he came under gunfire, that prompted a hospital visit, which led to his arrest.
Jalisco state prosecutor Eduardo Almaguer, told reporters that “El Elvis”, financial boss of CJNG and brother-in-law of leader “El Mencho, was travelling in a SUV in the town of San Miguel de Alto, Jalisco, Sunday morning when he stopped the vehicle to “heed the call of nature”.
This occurred after attending a meeting with several people, "they stopped (the edge of a road), when a pickup, which apparently been following the drug boss’s vehicle, then passed the SUV and open fired at Elvis.
Elvis had simply exited the vehicle and relieved himself just to the edge of the road and in plain sight of anyone on the road passing by. His enemies took full advantage of the situation, but clearly are in need of target practice, as the would be assassins only managed to land two gunshot impacts, both to Elvis’ arm.
Elvis was taken to the hospital in the SUV where his identification was suspect to hospital personnel, prompting hospital authorities to call the feds and report a patient with gunshot wounds and false documentation, it was that call that caused authorities to conduct the operation that led to his arrest, after the process of ture identification was conducted.
The detained leader is the brother of the wife of Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes alias "El Mencho" CJNG premier leader, and brother of Los Cuinis leader Abigael González Valencia aka “El Cuini”.
The two groups are strongly allied and some members interchangeable as in the case of El Elvis.
Abigael was arrested last February, in Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, by a joint operation of the Navy, Federal Police and the Attorney General's Office.
U.S. Fugitive
Abigael was arrested on May 2, 1996 in the San Diego, California. He was charged with six counts related to the manufacture of narcotics (methamphetamine) and conspiracy to distribute.
The court case number 1: 96-cr-05113-AWI-6, dated May 9, 1996 and filed with the Federal Court for the Eastern District of California, indicates that on November 22nd of that year, El Cuini was released after posting 80,000 dollar bail.
He was ordered to appear in court on April 28, 1997.
He skipped bail and fled south of the border.
"Once released, El Cuini returned to Mexico," admits the DEA official.
Since then he is a fugitive from US justice, therefore, now under the custody of the Mexican government, his extradition would be a mere bureaucratic procedure.
In May, 2015, Federal Agents submitted and provisional order of detention with intent to extradite to the US, Abigael the drug capo from Michoacán.
