hree young people , two men and one woman , were arrested in Chihuahua for the murder of young man, whose body appeared in plastic bags last Tuesday in the center of the city of Chihuahua and who died in the midst of a satanic rite .
The Attorney General's Office determined that Edwin Miguel Juarez Palma, 24, died as a result of the dislocation of cervical spine by strangulation. He was beaten, slashed across the neck, suffered numerous facial injuries, wounds at the base of the neck from blows and injuries from a sharp object.
The victim resided in Chihuahua City, in colonia Riveras Sacramento. He worked at “Restaurant 360”, in Technology Plaza, on Libertad street.
The suspects said they believed if he was sacrificed he would return as a vampire. According to the killers, Juarez Palma asked to be sacrificed to resurrect as a vampire. The ceremony was to be an initiation ceremony into the sect called “Sons of Baphomet”.
The Satanic ritual and subsequent crime took place inside an Internet cafe located on Manuel Doblado No. 10 street, where experts found blood evidence.
The three arrested were; Iveth Nayeli López Hernández, a 18 year old student, Gustavo Adolfo Dorantes Dorantes, 18, an employee at the Ciber Frick Shop, and Omar Sanchez Garcia, alias "The Osiris", 25 originally from Oaxaca, the owner of the business where the murder was committed. The murder took place inside the toilets of the shop.
A fourth person who authorities say is the leader of the Satanic sect, is being sought by police.
Friends report that the victim was a good person, and his interest in vampires was nothing but a hobby.
Authorities have not determined if the victim truly was a willing participant, or sacrificed by the will of the sect members.
