In an internal struggle, the group that controls the limits of Jalisco and Michoacán killed 13 people who were part of two cells and threw their bodies into the River Lerma. "El Chulo" continues to operate with impunity together with "El Diamante", nephew "El Mencho". Municipal police of La Barca, are in the crosshairs of the Office of Attorney General of Jalisco and the PGR.

The most violent faction of Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) started collecting "bills" for alleged bad agreements between cells of the same organization in municipalities of Jalisco near the State of Michoacán . So far there are 13 dead and some missing.

The criminal group CJNG that dominates the corridor of Jalisco-Michoacán are the same faction who, near the end of 2013, deprived two federal agents of their freedom and killed them en route to Zamora to join a Base of Mixed Operations (BOM), and whose search led authorities to discover dozens of clandestine graves in La Barca, where there were remains of 74 bodies.

The brutal cartel, which in this region is led by "El Chulo" and " El Diamante, was identified before the finding of the clandestine graves when, between 26 and September 29, bodies and human remains arrived at the town of Maltarañas, in the municipality of Jamay, across the Rio Lerma, from Michoacan. Initially on Monday, a body appeared floating in the contaminated river current. Later two more were sighted. The next day one more, and so this terrifying scene repeated itself for four days for a total of 12 bodies. In Michoacan, authorities rescued another body for a total of 13.

Soon the discovery of the bodies were tied to the disappearance of two groups of people from the municipalities of La Barca and Ayotlán, both belonging to the Ciénega region of Jalisco. The first is bordered by the Lerma River, which flows into Lake Chapala.

"Bad Accounts"

The day the last of the 13 bodies appeared, two people went to the Attorney General's Office to denounce the disappearance of ten residents of Ayotlan. The previous night there was another report of the "levantón" of four other people, family members of La Barca. They turned out to be among the deceased. One more person was still missing.

The prosecutor of Jalisco, Jesus Eduardo Almaguer Ramirez, confirmed that both groups of victims were killed by people of CJNG for allegedly forming their own criminal cells, known as "The Bolillos" of La Barca, and "The Bayos" of Ayotlán, dedicated to drug dealing in their respective towns.

Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, "ELMencho"

The official said both cells were coordinated with the cartel leader in the region, "El Chulo" in Vista Hermosa, Michoacán. He said the victims were taken to the municipality, where they were killed and thrown into the Rio Lerma. On investigations, Almaguer noted that two detainees made a declaration to the second commander of the Municipal Police of La Barca; meanwhile, the head of the corporation fled, so location and an order he turned against them to appear.

The prosecutor confirmed the possible complicity of police of La Barca in the operation of the criminal group in its various activities in the municipality of Jalisco, where what happened almost three years ago has not been eradicated, even with the change of authorities. "We have extensive information that allows us to reveal that these subjects were known to the citizens fearful of the violence and actions of these groups, reiterated Almaguer Ramirez.

In raids conducted by the Investigative Police they have secured small amounts of drugs, but have not found those responsible for the crimes. Authorities of the previous and the current municipal administration could be involved with CJNG.

"Chulo" Goes Unpunished

It did not help that in late 2013 Commander Enrique Gonzalez Hernandez and 22 other policemen of Vista Hermosa, Michoacán who provided their services and information protection to the cartel in exchange for weekly payments of one thousand to each cop.

Then headed by "El Chulo" and Omar Espejo Flores, "El Toro", - detained in December 2014 - Michoacan policemen were the perpetrators of the disappearance of Federal Police Ministerial Agents Rene Rojas Quijada Marquez and Gabriel Santiago on November 3, 2013, at the request of fuel thieves called "guachicoleros".

The federal search led to the discovery of more than thirty clandestine graves in the municipality of La Barca, Jalisco, adjacent to the banks of the Rio Lerma, near Briseñas, Michoacan. Buried were at least 74 human bodies in a state of putrefaction.

Michoacan officials have been in the service of criminal group for a year and a half, they were paid their money in the parking lot of the Guadalajara Pharmacies La Barca, through the commander Enrique Gonzalez. The police arrested and handed over three young men belonging to the Knights Templar who were heading to Colima to steal cars and an alleged Zeta who escaped from a prison in Tamaulipas in 2013 to the CJNG operatives.

Over time the identification of human remains in La Barca is not transparent nor have illegal activities been slowed  of "El Chulo", who has stayed out front as the sole leader of the cell in the Ciénega region, which continues to operate, as one entity passes on to another, with the complicity of police and officials from various municipalities.

It is also mentioned that the mastermind of the slaughter at the Rio Lerma is "El Diamante", who could be Manuel Cervantes González, nephew of "El Mencho", who was arrested in early 2010 and was exonerated by a federal in the State of Jalisco.
