Aureliano Guzman Loera, alias "El Guano", brother of Joaquin Archivaldo Guzman Loera, "El Chapo", former leader of the Sinaloa Cartel, is being blamed by the Federal Government as the mastermind of the military ambush that occurred in Culiacan, Sinaloa on Friday, Sept 30, when five soldiers were killed and ten others wounded.

Journalist Carlos Loret de Mola reported Monday in his column, "Reporter Stories", published in the newspaper "El Universal" and on "Wake Up with Loret" a program on Televisa TV Network that "First level Security Cabinet sources" ensured this information.

The official investigation, which came through the Specialized Deputy Attorney Investigator of Organized Crime (SEIDO), The Attorney General of the Republic, "took a turn" and they now presume that "El Guano" ordered the rescue of Julio Oscar Vega Ortiz, "El Kevin" which resulted in the killing of the soldiers.

The commander of the Third Military Region, General Alphonso Duarte Mujica, blamed the sons of "El Chapo" Guzman in the hours after the ambush, however, the capo's attorney Jose Refugio Rodriguez Nunez said that the perpetrators of the attack were not Archivaldo Ivan and Alfredo Guzman Salazar and now the inquest points to "El Chapo's" brother.

The same sources told Loret de Mola that "El Kevin" would not be a high commander in the Sinaloa cartel , "but a key player, because he knows much of the criminal organization ...... and for this reason the violent operation was launched so that he would not be detained by authorities".

Last Friday, it is known that by letter the sons of the Sinaloan drug trafficker reiterated that they were not the perpetrators of the ambush that the Mexican Army convoy suffered in Culiacan.

Today, the daily national newspaper Reforma published a report: From June 10, 2016 until Oct 6, 2016, 126 people have been executed in the state of Sinaloa, deaths allegedly linked to drug trafficking group activities in disputes within The Golden Triangle.

The date that marked the beginning of this count conducted by the Reforma was when at least fifty gunman, headed by the leader of the Beltran-Leyva Cartel, Alfredo Beltran Guzman, alias "El Mochomito", assaulted the community of La Tuna.

Beltran Guzman is the son of Alfredo Beltran Leyva "El Mochomo", and nephew of "El Chapo". The latter two capos , both now prisoners, are originally from Badiraguato, the epicenter of of the dispute in The Golden Triangle, an area that encompasses the states of Sinaloa, Chihuahua and Durango.

In the incursion of "El Mochimito" in La Tuna, located in the mountains of the Sierra Madre Occidental, seven people were killed and four homes burned. Maria Consuela Loera Perez, the mother of "El Chapo" was also forced to flee her home in the town.

The commander of the Ninth Military Zone, Rogelio Teran Contreras, confirmed to the newspaper that "El Mochomito"declared war with "El Guano", brother of "El Chapo" head of the Pacific Cartel cell that operates in the mountains of Badiraguato.

"All want total control of all means of production, the crops of narcotics" says the military, for it is in this mountainous area of The Golden Triangle that federal forces have found the largest amounts of poppy and marijuana plantations in the entire country.

The newspaper La Jornada also reported in late September that an armed group at the command of Aurelio Guzman, "El Guano", took control of the community of Huixiopa, in the Municipality of Badiraguato, which was formerly controlled by people of Beltran Leyva, who also live in the region.
