The National Anti-drugs Agency (SENAD) of Paraguay, detained 4 Mexicans and 2 Paraguayans this Wednesday in the Metropolitan area of the capital of Asuncion. The individuals presumably belonged to Cartel de Sinaloa. Law enforcement personnel also confiscated 300 kilograms of cocaine "of high purity", that were going to be sent to Europe and were hidden in a closet.

A spokesman of the SENAD informed the EFE (News agency from Spain), that the drug -with a value of 30 million USD- was hidden in a house in the municipally of Villa Elisa, where 2 Mexicans were arrested and 1 Paraguayan, while the other two persons of Mexican nationality were detained previously.

The Mexicans detained are identified as Armando Carrillo Flores, Marcos Castro de la Rosa, Martin Manuel Huerta Flores and Jimmy Wayne Galliel, the supposed leader of the criminal organization.

The first three were apprehended by anti-drug agents in a luxury house in the district of Villa Elisa where the drugs were hidden, approximately 14 kilometers south of Asuncion. While the leader was arrested in the Sheraton Hotel of the capital.

The Paraguayan Anti-narcotics officers had information that the Mexican Cartel "was trying to find new routes" and established themselves in the Great Asuncion in order to "receive the loads of cocaine from Colombia, settle the quantities and ship it to Europe".

This information was confirmed by the head of the Secretaria Nacional Antidrogas (SENAD), Hugo Vera, to the EFE agency, who affirmed that during the operative, conducted along with the Anti-Drugs Agency, 300 kilograms of "Cocaine Hydrochloride" were confiscated.

The drugs were stacked in blocks inside a closet, and the SENAD indicated that the confiscated Cocaine could be of up to 500 kilograms. Procedures to "weight" the drug are still pending.

In an interview with the local media "Hoy", the Fiscal Agent Zully Figueredo, representative of the Public Ministry, claimed that the agency had already been investigating the individuals for at least two months, thanks to the information given by the SENAD.

"With the information that we have we can probably conclude that the drugs belong to the Cartel de Sinaloa, however during the investigation we will confirm this information. We had the information that his persons had plans to arrive to Paraguay and from here, start an organization with the purpose of sending an experimental shipment of cocaine to Holland. They came here with intentions of starting from zero in our country. The modus operandi consisted of sending shipments through industrial containers", revealed the Fiscal Agent.

According to local authorities, Paraguay, its not a traditional country in the production of drugs, however it has been used to convert Bolivian Cocaine and then send it to Brazil, Argentina and other countries for selling purposes, through the implementation of illegal narco laboratorios in their territory.

The SENAD informed that the biggest hit against cartels was of 1800 kilos, which occurred in 2013.
