A clash inside the Social Reintegration Center of Acapulco, in the city of Guerrero, Mexico, left a balance of at least five dead. All were beheaded.
Guerrero Coordination Group spokesman Roberto Álvarez Heredia confirmed in an interview with media that the fight was registered at dawn in the maximum security section of the prison, when several prisoners broke padlocks and started clashes between them.
Álvarez says, at this time they have no way to know the exact number of dead, the number is likely to go higher.
He indicated that the authorities are carrying out interrogations of inmates to identify those responsible for the fight, and the reason the confrontation initiated.
Photographs of the decapitated victims quickly were posted on social media.
