From May 31 to date experts from the State Attorney General's Office have found 149,000 bones in a building in the municipality of Garcia, Nuevo Leon, detectives revealed to the  relatives of missing people on Thursday.

In a tour carried out within the estate between family members and prosecutors in charge of the search, they were informed that from the fragments obtained it may still not possible to obtain any genetic profile to identify the victims. "We do not know how many people account for this many fragments," said one of the persons responsible for the search of the families.

The group belonging to Families United for Our Disappeared in Nuevo Leon (Fundenl) said they are not satisfied with the information obtained, because there is nothing concrete about what was found there. "We only know that there are almost 150,000 remains, but we do not know to they belong, we don't know who they are" said one of the mothers who accompanied the group.

Mothers and  Members of FUNDENL
Leticia Hidalgo, representative of the organization, reported that in 2016 they noticed that the authorities had intervened where they were searching, and in that place a thousand fragments were secured, of which they collected 52 DNA profiles.

Commemorate Crosses at the Crime Scene
"When we arrived with Father Solalinde and tried to put a cross we noticed that where we were nailing the crosses human remains appeared, ....... human remains that the Attorney General had not found before."

"We started digging ourselves and all over there was more remains, so we asked that the prosecutor's office to open another phase of investigation and the result is this: nearly 150,000 fragments and no knowledge of how many were killed in this extermination camp," said Hidalgo.

A prosecutor who accompanied the group, and asked not to be identified, assured the families that the remains found inside the building were in very bad condition, thus the conditions to extract the profiles were complicated.

"Most of the remains are found to be calcinated, ie, burned. The process is complicated because it is not possible in many cases to obtain a profile to which we can extract DNA," said the Attorney General.

Of the thousand remains located in 2016, only 52 were sampled for DNA and 25 people have been identified, 27 remain unclaimed;  among the remains already identified, there are some policemen who had been abducted by the Los Zetas group in 2010.

The results of the analysis of the 149,000 fragments could take six months, an PGR spokesperson said.
