Rio Doce

The criminal group of Knights Templar reiterated his call for his allies to "eliminate" Miguel Angel Trevino Morales, The Z-40, who will assume sole leadership of Los Zetas.  Heriberto Lazcano Lazcano, The Lazca, was killed during a confrontation with members of the Navy in the state of Coahuila .
Through narcobanners placed at different points this morning states of Guerrero and Guanajuato, the criminal organization in Michoacán, called on Mexicans to unite to provide data to eliminate the Z-40 .
In Guerrero appeared banners in the municipalities of Atoyac de Alvarez, Jose Azueta, Union Isidoro Montes de Oca and Coyuca de Benitez,  in Guanajuato, in the municipalities of Acambaro, Jerécuaro, Coroneo, Tarandacuao, Apaseo the Great, and Yuriria Uriangato .
“Take the word of the Knights Templar: Treviño Morales face Z-40 is a terrorist and indiscriminate killer.
"Let all us  Mexicans  contribute data and together we can avoid the bloodshed that have brought these vestías(?) to our homes from evil Mexicans, all civilians unite for the good of Mexico, of our countrymen and show that together we are a great power. "
This makes the second call from Knights Templar to end the criminal group Zetas and  Z-40 .  Previously they  also placed narcobanners in municipalities of the Costa Grande presenting the same challenge.
Almost at the same time, in several municipalities in the south of the state were hung banners with messages similar to those that appeared in Guerrero, where calls to join the Knights Templar to fight and kill Miguel Angel Trevino, the Z 40, which now is called the leadership of the Zetas.
The assistant attorney general in the region of Celaya, Armando Amaro Vallejo, said at a news conference that the messages were located in the municipalities of Acambaro, Jerécuaro, Coroneo, Tarandacuao, Apaseo the Great, and Yuriria Uriangato.

"El Wicked" Confesses to Killing Marisela! Scapegoat?

Borderland Beat

El Wicked confessed to participating in the "El Colorado Bar Massacre." Then he confessed to killing activist Marisela Escobedo! Her family calls him a scapegoat!  Is he portraying himself as a victim of a bad childhood? Who's buying it?

Standing in front of the prosecutor, José Enrique Jiménez Zavala stares at his three three tattoos that somehow define his personality. One has an inscription in Vietnamese that, translated into Spanish, says: "Do not trust no bitch." The second contains an EPT acronym that refers to El Paso, Texas. The third is a silhouette of Subcomandante Marcos.

Then "El Wicked," born on December 29, 1982 in Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua, recounts his childhood with an air of pride. After leaving his father behind, moving from Juarez to an apartment in El Paso at age eight, "I lived on Alameda Street and Copia with my mother, and brothers,...my mom was devoted to the home and paid expenses by working in bars and taverns."

Jiménez Zavala admits that he wasn't a good student, that gang activities would pulled him from school, and that he "only got through high school. I did my studies at Basset High School and did two years of high school in Austin; likewise my brothers also studied in El Paso schools."

He practiced football: "During sports season everything was fine, but vacation time was the beginning of getting in trouble."

He joined gangs, was expelled from school for gang fights, and the punishments soon began to match his escalating infractions. He was placed in a "Challenge Bootcamp." At 15, El Wicked was sentenced to one year at the Texas Commission for Children with a charge of theft.

Upon his release at age 16, he became a gang leader, stole narcomenudo drugs for resale and began experimenting with heroin and guns.
El Wicked graduated to County Jail in Abilene, Texas with a five-year stint for supermarket robbery. In county lockup he sealed his downward spiral by joining Los Aztecas. Upon his release, he took control of the capital of Chihuahua plaza, distributing heroin and committing murders. More recently, he participated in the murder of 16 people in the El Colorado bar in Chihuahua on April 20, 2012.

El Wicked Confesses to Killing Marisela Escobedo!

Jiménez Zavala confessed that the order to kill Marisela Escobedo came from Jesus Antonio Rincón Chavero, a.k.a. "el Tarzan," a former ministerial officer, third in command of the organization La Linea, who has already been arrested and detained in a federal prison.

He also said that the order came from "above." At that time, the leaders of the criminal group were "El Diego" and "El Brad Pitt," both also arrested.

Marisela Escobedo
Everyone knows the the sad story of Marisela Escobedo, "Rubi's Mom." Escobedo's abruptly became an activist when her daughter, Rubi Frayre Escobedo, 16, disappeared in Ciudad Juarez, across from El Paso, in 2008. Escobedo worked tirelessly to attract attention to "the disappeared" Juarez women, while "uber-focusing" on bringing justice for her missing  Rubi, who had turned 17 by the time her burned and dismembered body was found in the trash in 2009.

Once wrapped only in a banner with her daughter's photograph, Escobedo demanded  justice. She contacted federal research groups, initiating in-depth investigations into officials in various levels of government as a means to expedite the arrest of Raphael Barraza Bocanegra, a Zeta who the Escobedo family firmly believed responsible for Rubi's death. Although Bocandegra was finally arrested, he was quickly acquitted and released. It was a devastating blow to the Escobedos. (The acquittal was eventually reversed by a panel of judges.)

El Wicked said the day he killed Escobedo, she was was opposite the Palace of Government. After shooting her first in the head, the gun "jammed," and the victim's brother threw a chair that hit El Wicked in the arm.  Escobedo tried to flee her assassin by running across the street, but the gunman chased her down. She died shortly after at a hospital.

According to state authorities, El Wicked said the killing of Escobedo was an agreement between the Juárez and the los Zetas cartels because her protests were attracting too much media attention. Jiménez Zavala explained that Sergio Barraza, the man who slayed Rubi, was in Zacatecas with the Zetas.

Attack of Activist Marisela Escobeda

In Memory of Marisela Escobedo
Son Of Activist Marisela Escobedo says "El Wicked" is a Scapegoat

Juan Manuel Frayre Escobedo, son of Marisela Escobedo, said his uncle, Ricardo Escobedo, who witnessed the murder, does not recognize El Wicked as the author of the crime. Frayre said his uncle, who like him and another brother asked for political asylum in the United States after they buried his mother in Ciudad Juarez, said the man presented by Chihuahua authorities as the alleged killer of Marisela Escobedo is a "scapegoat."

Frayre Escobedo, who has taken refuge in the U.S. from alleged death threats, said in a press conference that they have identified the "real murderer," a U.S. citizen. "My mom's brother witnessed the murder and reported it to the Attorney General's Office (PGR). They know it's a Gringo," he clarified. He would not reveal the identity of the alleged murderer, but he did say that he could only be residing in Ciudad Juarez or El Paso. Although Chihuahua authorities presented this weekend El Wicked as the murderer, Frayre insists that he may have been pressured to plead guilty and settle the case.

Marisela Escobedo Ortiz paid the ultimate price for standing up for her beliefs
The real killers--whoever they may be--should pay the price for the assassination of Marisela Escobedo. She deserves that much and more.

The gunfight took place at around 0200 hrs 100 meters from the Policia Federal Preventativa (PFP) headquarters.  A burned out Volkswagen Jetta sedan was found near by with a rifle inside.  A residence nearby had been severely damaged by gunfire, and one unidentified individual was found dead.  The victim has been butchered.

Three other unidentified individuals were killed in two other incidents in Zacatecas state.
  • Two unidentified individuals were attacked by armed suspects who were travelling aboard a truck in Guadalupe municipality early Wednesday morning.  The incident took place in Arboledas colony on Calle Sicomoro where the suspects fired on the victims, then fled the scene. The girl is similar looking, but I am not so sure, but this picture supposedly of Lazca I have doubts, he looks thinner and different than the squirrels wedding photos....Paz, Chivis

I began this post to soley feature the article in Valley Central about a kidnapped teen possibly being Lazca girlfriend and the mother of his baby.  Sergio Chapa did a good job with the video which includes an interview of the girls mother.  The mother does not think it is her daughter, and I agree the facial features are different.

Not only that, I am saying, as I did when I first laid eyes on it, that it is not Lazca.  Way off.  His death photos confirmed my conclusion, features are not a match, even the ears, hairline and his weight is considerably less than his death photos and the photos from the Squirrels wedding.  I post them here including a side by side of the photos.

Secondly the bottom video is the full length video of footage identified by Valley Central as of Lazcas death, they  based their report on one from BDN who ran the video as Zetas in PN then changed it to Lazca.  The video was from the 7th and posted the 8th in the morning.  BB Forum posted it on the 8th early.  It was posted by Tierra, then Zocalo or visa versa.  You can see that it is a Piedras Negras video, not Lazca.

Below is the Valley Central story.

Just clearing out the trash and keeping the facts straight.

In the middle is the person identified as Lazca

Valley Central (sergio chapa):

Her teenage daughter Stephanie, or “Fanny” as their family called her, was kidnapped from the streets of Torreon Coahuila back in 2004.
Kidnappers claiming to be with the Zetas drug cartel demanded a ransom but then the calls stopped.
Fanny was 16 years old at the time she was kidnapped but eight years have passed.
But a twist to case following the death of Zetas supreme leader Heriberto Lazcano-Lazcano this weekend.
Blogs and Mexican media outlets all reported that authorities found a photo in Lazcano-Lazcano’s possession that could be Fanny.
The slain drug lord is seen in the photo with a young woman that many on-line are saying is Ortiz's missing daughter.
Ortiz is skeptical that the girl in the photo is her daughter based on physical traits.
“I can’t say that’s my daughter,” Ortiz said in an interview in Spanish via Skype. “Even less because that photo is just too blurry.”
Ortiz said the family’s search once brought them to Pharr here in the Rio Grande Valley back in 2007.
A prosecutor told the family that Fanny was living in the Valley and had even given birth to Lazcano-Lazcanos's baby on the American side of the border.
The family worked with the U.S. Marshals and identified five possible matches based on records of newborn babies.
Two were eliminated as possibilities but three of the females could never be verified.
“Of those three girls, we couldn’t verify them,” Ortiz said in Spanish. “We really don’t know if one of them could have been her.”
Ortiz said the family is clinging to hope that their daughter is still alive.
And if Fanny is living in the Valley, they hope someone can come forward with information.
“We’re many eyes, many eyes and if you see her, I beg you, implore you to help me,” Ortiz said in Spanish via Skype.
Thank for the heads up BB reader

Gunfights and roadblocks in Matamoros and Reynosa in Tamaulipas state has left a toll of nine armed suspects  and two soldiers dead, according to Mexican news, narcoboard and Twitter accounts.

An article posted on the website of El Sol de Zacatecas news daily said that shootouts began 1100 hrs Friday morning on the Reynosa to Tamaulipas highway near the villages of Empalme and Control Ramirez, and continued towards Lauro Villar  colony near avenidas Del Niño, 12 de Marzo and Marte R Gomez, Libramiento Emilio Portes Gil and  Avenida Lauro Villa until 1330 hrs.

Initially, press reports stated that no one has been hurt in the armed confrontation, however a later dispatch posted on he website of Proceso news weekly said that unidentified Tamaulipas officials confirmed nine armed suspects and two soldiers had been killed and several Mexican federal security forces effectives have been wounded.

The Proceso report said that a pursuit and subsequent gunfight ended at Playa Bagdad on Kilometer 15 of the Reynosa to Matomoros highway.

According to a separate news report posted on the website of Proceso news weekly, a Mexican federal forces raid on a residence in Modelo colony on Calle Santos Degollado, presumably on Thursday may have sparked the reaction by local drug gangs, to include roadblocks, which are a favorite tactic of drug gangs in cities.

The raid has reportedly netted Mexican security forces the capture of a  local drug gang leader, although the suspect's identity has yet to be released.

Separately, a tweet released described a Mexican Naval infantry unit  responding to a call at Kilometer 57 of Mexico Federal Highway 2 between Matamoros and Reynosa at around 0130 hrs Friday morning where three vehicles were found abandoned.  One of the vehicles, a Chevrolet Cheyenne pickup truck had a dead body inside.  two other abandoned sedans were also found at the scene.

The marine unit subsequently searched the area finding two unidentified armed suspects aboard a GMC Yukon SUV.  The two suspects surrendered to the marine unit without firing a shot.

Elements of the army killed Manuel Torres Felix, "el M1", brother of Javier Torres Felix, "el JT", both related to the narco trafficking activities of the Sinaloa Cartel. Manuel Torres Felix was killed in an early morning confrontation between soldiers and suspected cartel triggermen in the vicinity of the community of Oso Viejo, in Quilá, Culiacan.  Manuel Torres Felix's sister, Maria Luisa,  identified the body of her brother at the forensic facilities, and the State's Attorney confirmed he was killed by Army soldiers in Oso Viejo.

Body of "el Ondeado"
According to the first reports by the authorities, the incident took place at  2:00 am on Saturday morning when soldiers clashed with a Sinaloa Cartel cell which was under the command of Manuel Torres. Army elements secured the crime scene but did not allow access to the media, while the body was transferred under heavy security to the facilities of the Medical Examiner of Culiacán.

'El Ondeado's" brother Javier Torres, "JT", was identified by Mexican and United States authorities as chief gunmen to Ismael "El Mayo" Zambada, a leader of the Sinaloa cartel along with Joaquin Guzman Loera, "El Chapo". He was arrested in Culiacan on January 27, 2004 during a military operation. The Mexican government extradited him to the U.S. to be prosecuted in 2006 for various offenses including crimes against health, money laundering and conspiracy. Manuel Torres Felix is on the list of most wanted drug traffickers by the U.S. government.

PGJE confirms that the Army Killed Manuel Torres in a confrontation

In a clash early today between elements of the Mexican army and cartel gunman, a known drug trafficker Manuel Torrres, AKA as "el Ondeado" was slain. Marco Antonio Higuera Gomez, States Attorney confirmed to the media this morning that the death of  "el Ondeado", was based on information from the Mexican army,. "Sources are not official or expert, but it has been confirmed to us that it is this person", said Higuera,  "I am basing this on what we have been told by the army itself, we will collaborate with the PGR for identification."  Manuel Torres Félix is the brother of Javier Torres Félix,

From the fallen subject they assured $9,980 dollars and S23,500 pesos, in addition to lots of white powder, assumed to be cocaine. Two 38 super caliber pistols  and 7 .22 caliber cartridges were also secured.
A request from the army was received to  submit a body to the public prosecutor in Oso Viejo, trustee of Quila, to identify which was subsequently transferred to the facilities of the Semefo. Manuel Torres's family have attended the Semefo to verify whether it is or if it is not this person. Manuel Torres Felix had been included in recent months on the list of most wanted by the U.S. Justice and was considered to be the same by Federal forces of Mexico. Since the beginning of the war, Torres has been considered one  of Ismael Zambada's most bloodthirsty and feared operators as well  as he became one of  Cartel de Sinaloa's most valuable operators.
"el Ondeado"
With the nicknames "el M-1,"  and 'el Ondeado,' Manuel Torres has accumulated many narcocorridos dedicated to him that have become popular among Sinaloenses.
The musical group Movimiento Aterado dedicated their narcocorrido, Sanguinarios de M1 to Torres Felix for leaving a trail of mutilated bodies in the trunks of rivals' cars:

"With an AK-47 and a bazooka behind my head
Cross my path and I'll chop your head off
I'm crazy and I like to kill my enemies
We're best at kidnapping
We are always in a posse with bullet-proof vest
Ready to execute"

This is considered a significant hit to CDS., and a big morale booster for the Mexican Army.

Authorities: “Z-40 didn’t betray Lazcano, he stole the body”.

Authorities accepted that the fall of the leader of the Zetas was fortuitous, since marines were unaware of the identity of the body killed in the town of Progreso,Coahuila.
Written byAurora Vega for Excelsior
Miguel Treviño Morales, Z-40, stole the body of Heriberto Lazcano Lazcano, El Lazca, killed on Sunday during a confrontation with Navy elements, from the Garcia Funeral Home  in Sabinas, Coahuila, according to information from Secretariat of Marines (SEMAR).

Additionaly, SEMAR officially recognized that there was a third person implied in the shootout but he managed to escape; it is alleged to have been a guard of the principal leader of the Zetas Cartel.

They also accepted that the fall of the criminal  was fortuitous, since the marines were unaware of the identity of the body killed in the town of Progreso, Coahuila, explained the vice admiral Jose Luis Vergara Ibarra, spokesman.

Employees of PGR informed that they already have the expert information given by the state authority and that the government of the U.S solicited samples if DNA that were managed to be retrieved  from the body to help in the identification.

Z-40 IS INDICATED IN THE ROBBERY OF THE BODY

Intelligence reports affirmed that Miguel Treviño Morales continued under the orders of Heriberto Lazcano.

Secretariat of Marines (SEMAR) has indicators that the body of the drug trafficker Heriberto Lazcano Lazcano, leader of the Zetas, was rescued by the second in command, Miguel Treviño Morales, El Z-40, ast Monday from the funeral home in the municipality of Sabinas, where the autopsy was conducted.

Due to this action, intelligence reports of the Mexican Army revealed that Lazcano and Z-40 always operated in common agreement and that the second in command of the criminal organization was always his top henchman.

Information of the federal dependency revealed that the criminal organization of the Zetas had some rearrangements and restructuration due to splits of some cells of that cartel caused by conflict with the leadership of Miguel Treviño Morales. One of the events that confirm the rupture is the violent events that occurred on August in San Luis Potosi.

The rupture between Ivan Velazquez Caballero, aka El Taliban/or Z-50, and Miguel Treviño Morales provoked a series of executions and violent acts that culminated with the arrest of the Velazquez Caballero.

Mexican authorities initially thought the rupture was  between Lazcano and Miguel Treviño; however, the reports of the Army revealed that such a rupture never occurred, further reporting  that Z-40 was who took the body of his boss to protect it.

Meanwhile, employees of the PGR revealed that the federal dependency accomplishes conclusions from  the expert evidence given by the Attorney of Justice of the State of Coahuila, as well as from the Mexican Army, and  10 expert evidence tests will be made to determine the identity of the drug trafficker, though fingerprints, and expert photography examinations have concluded with the positive identification.

SUPPORT FROM THE U.S

It was revealed that the American authorities asked the Mexican government, some samples of DNA of Heriberto Lazcano to help the identification.

According to employees of the PGR that made a recount of events of the operation in which the leader of the Zetas cartel was killed,  it is revealed that the naval elements took about half hour in arriving to the place where there was a complaint from a citizen  about the presence of armed men, for which  18  elements went to the location.

According to investigations of the federal dependency, it has been obtained declarations of witnesses that mention the presence of Heriberto Lazcano in a baseball field in the community of Progreso, Coahuila, due to the presence of a relative of his sentimental partner (girlfriend) that was playing that Sunday.

After the operation where the leader of the Zetas was killed, it is specified that he was accompanying by two persons: a driver and a person that escaped at the time of the confrontation.

According to the ministerial acts, the body of Lazcano was taken to a funeral home in Sabinas where it  was stolen by a commando.

PGR AND MARINES SEARCH FOR THE BODY OF THE ZETA LEADER

The Attorney General of Justice of Coahuila, Homero Ramos Gloria, confirmed the arrival to Coahuila, of a group of elements of the General Attorney (PGR) to recover the body of Heriberto Lazcano Lazcano, El Lazca.

The state employee stated that he received a call from the Attorney Maricela Morales, whom confirmed the arrival of at least 20 elements, which arrived accompanied by personnel of the Secretariat of Navy of Mexico.

He emphasized that a line of investigation exists from the Federation to locate the body of El Lazca.

He detailed that in the Attorney of the State, it was developed a meeting with the federal attorneys, Federal Public Ministries and Experts.

A group remained in Saltillo to corroborate the data that is irrefutable of the body of Lazcano.

He added that it is presumed that the body of Heriberto Lazcano Lazcano hasn’t left the state of Coahuila.

FINDING LAZCA WAS FORTUITOUS: SEMAR

In an interview with Adela Micha for Grupo Imagen Multimedia (Multimedia Image Group), the spokesman of SEMAR explained that three criminals initiated the confrontation after seeing the arrival of the federal units. From the first gunfire, one of the elements was injured.

After the vehicle of the delinquents stopped with the driver dead, a persecution on foot against two people began, “one person managed to escape, and the second one was killed. We found out till the following day that it was Heriberto Lazcano Lazcano.”

According to the marines, the gathering of expert evidence and lifting of the body is explicit task of the corresponding Public Ministry and of the General Attorney of Justice of Coahuila.

Singuilucan, Hidalgo-- 54 kilometers (32 miles) from the capital city of the state of Hidalgo lies the country that witnessed the growth of one of the founders of the of the criminal organization known as "Los Zetas." Here, in a community of more than 10,000 inhabitants, is where Heriberto Lazcano Lazcano, "El Z-3,"who according to the Mexican Navy was gunned down in the town of Progreso, Coahuila, spent the first years of his life.

People close to the capo will tell you that Heriberto is one of three sons from Ramon Lazcano's first marriage. His two brothers are Pedro and Gabriel, with whom he grew up during the first three years of his life until he moved with his family to the municipality of Apan.

There, the Lazcanos took up farming and cattle ranching, until they became one of the biggest producers and one of the wealthiest families in the county. Those who knew Heriberto recall that the family adapted quickly to Apan, but, despite that, the three sons were sent to the D.F. (Distrito Federal) to study. Nobody remembers exactly where in the capital they were sent, but Pedro received an education closely linked to the Church, which led him to become a priest for a few years, although he left that afterwards. Gabriel, his other brother, had a life much like Heriberto Lazcano's, and he joined the military for some years.

After living in the Mexican capital, the three brothers went back with their family and moved to the city of Pachuca in the 1990's. It was after that that the capo joined the military, from which he deserted in 1998 to become a member of the "Los Zetas" criminal organization, which began as the enforcement arm of Osiel Cardenas, former leader of the Gulf Cartel.

From there, Lazcano had a house built for his mother in the El Tezontle neighborhood, an area from which the drug trafficker could see everything that went on around him. In that same neighborhood the capo built a church beside the old San Juan de los Lagos chapel. The temple is guarded by a metal cross more than 15 ft. tall, and on the back side, a plaque that gives thanks to the capo.

Both the three story house, which is located on a hill, and the church are located only a few yards from the 18th Military Zone, from which one can see a mausoleum, also built by the capo, made to resemble the church.

People that say they knew the narco recall that it was very common to see Heriberto, not only in El Tezontle, but also in the municipalities of Tulancingo and Apan, where he was guarded by kaibiles (elite soldiers from Guatemala).

Translated by un vato for Borderland Beat

Techaluta de Montenegro.--Three weeks ago, a businessman -- the owner of a factory in the southern part of Jalisco-- began to receive threatening and extortion phone calls. He reported these threats to the local, state and federal authorities, but they all downplayed his case.  Today, he is recovering from a bullet wound in one leg and rebuilding assets that were burned down by an armed group in the early hours last Thursday.

Roberto's business manufactures children's furniture, a business located on the Guadalajara-Colima highway that is a source of employment for 150 people. He assures us that he is aware of his social responsibility.

"These days, allowing fear to defeat you is not an option, and to leave everything and abandon those who depend on the jobs one provides is not correct",  he tells EL UNIVERSAL, this  man who has known about organized crime for years, after they tried to kidnap his children. Those incidents have caused him to be separated from his family, which now resides in the United States.

"I believe one must learn from experience. At that time, I learned that we need to protect ourselves and take care of the family, that's why I installed bullet-proof glass on the windows of the house we have here at the factory."

The businessman was operating his factory in apparent tranquility, although he was aware that violent events related to organized crime had increased  in the area. Towards the end of September, a phone call changed everything.

"They knew all my movements"

"They began calling, asking for money, threatening me. They knew everything about me, about the factory, they knew details about my family, personal matters, they had details of all my activities, everything", he recalls, still nervous.

Days went by and the harassment got worse. A week after the first phone call, he went to the local law enforcement  authorities (MP; Ministerio Publico) in Sayula, a municipality near Techaluta.

"I get there and I'm told that the MP agent is busy, and, yes, I can see he's in his office with the door open, eating his steamed tacos (tacos al vapor). He sees me only after he's finished eating, only to give me a three-page handout, one of those, 'What to do in the case of extortion by phone?' handouts.  Feeling helpless, I said that was not the case with me, that it was a serious matter, but he didn't care."

"I told him about the phone calls, that they could be traced and that those people had a lot of information about me, and the man tells me that the matter was difficult, that the local Prosecutor does not have the technology to trace calls or to investigate the case. So that's what I got, a hand-out to defend myself with, " he states.

After he visited the visited an official with the State of Jalisco Department of Justice  (PGJEJ), his telephone caller added new warnings.

"The guy that called me said I didn't have to ask for protection, that they were there to protect me and they gave me a phone number that only the MP had. They told me, didn't I know there were officials who were (working) with them?".

Disappointed, he turned to the local and the Federal Police for help, while one of his friends sought help from the 9th Infantry Battalion stationed in Sayula; both got zero response.

"There at the Battalion, they simply told me that the commanding officers were in the northern part of Mexico, in Coahuila, and that they could do nothing. Then I went to the Federal Police, and it was the same thing, that they didn't have the staff and for me to file a complaint. The same with the Municipal Police, they didn't have the staff and were not equipped. They left me by myself," he complains.

All alone against the world

"I've got two registered pistols, a shotgun and I bought a bulletproof vest, the best investment I ever made. On Wednesday, the 10th, we arranged for the delivery of the (extortion) money and they drove me up and down the highway, until 5:00 in the afternoon, when they told me it was all fucked up."

He continues with his narrative of what happened during the next few hours until dawn on Thursday: "I drove the night watchman to his house, then I shut myself inside the property we have here at the factory and I waited. At four in the morning I see lights outside the house and I could hear somebody was trying to come in and we got into a firefight. I don't know how long the shooting lasted, but they only managed to hit me on the chest, which the vest covered, and one on the leg."

After the confrontation, the attackers set fire to two buildings, offices, a warehouse and five cars, then ran off.

"This time, the police--state, municipal and MP-- all showed up. There were 20 officers, all very polite, but what for?" he says.

For this businessman, fear is not a possibility: "I'm alive to talk about it. I don't think we can surrender. It's clear that in this country you have to be a former governor to be given any attention. Truthfully, I'm not asking for help, only for them not to interfere and to let us defend ourselves if they're not going to help, but no, allowing fear to control you is not an option," he concludes.

The Jalisco Justice Department (Procuraduria de Justicia de Jalisco) reported on Friday that it is investigating the incidents that took place before and during the time the furniture factory was set on fire. In addition, investigators from the Jalisco Institute of Forensic Science  are already making inquiries.

The agency pointed out that the actions of the Sayula MP agent are also being investigated to determine whether his actions with respect to the complainant were deficient in any way.

15 notable members of CAF arrested throughout 2012

The Ministry of Public Safety in Tijuana, (SSPE) announced that to date, authorities have detained 15 operators, lieutenants, or cell leaders of the criminal group, led by Fernando Sanchez Arellano, known as Ingeniero.

In the Spring, the Army captured Javier Uriarte Hernandez, 'El Chapito, with weapons, and 180 kilograms of marijuana, on Blvd Aguacaliente in Tijuana.

Chapito, was the subject of a Zeta Magazine profile a few weeks earlier, detailing his bloody history with the cartel, his actions against Teodoro Simental Garcia, and his vicious feud with Alfredo Azarte Arteaga, 'El Aquiles'.  In statements after his detention, Chapito claimed to be no more then an independent drug trafficker, fearing for his life, in the narco politics of Tijuana's organized crime groups.

In May, an associate of Manuel Arturo Villareal Heredia, '6-1', was arrested.  'El Pit' was a close associate of Villareal Heredia, who led a murder/kidnap cell, under Javier Francisco Arellano, in the early 2000's.  Another cousin of Villareal Heredia was detained in Tecate, Francisco Lopez Heredia, was detained with 1,000 plus grams of crystal, and alleged to be one of the main retail drug operators in the city of Tecate.  Three police officers linked with Arellano Felix were arrested later in May.

In June, authorities arrested a man with 90k, allegedly from drug sales in the Los Angeles area, from operators affiliated with, or working directly for Arellano Felix, the money was said to be Ingeniero's, personally.  A month later, Julio Cesar Salaes Quiones, 'El M4' was detained by elements of the Army, after a chase, in which Quiones injured himself while running.

M4 spent his life in the CAF, and was a confidante of long fallen leaders, such as Ramon Arellano, and Gustavo Riveria Martinez, 'El EP 1'.  Quoines was wanted for a variety of drug and homicide related offenses, but one noteworthy was the trafficking of 500 kilos from Tijuana into the United States in 1995.   M4 was also one of the groups most active in the fight against Los Teos.

Days after 'El M4', Luis Manuel Toscano, 'El Mono' was arrested by Federal Police in Zona Norte, following a sweeping Federal operation of the area.  Toscano allegedly answered to Sanchez Arellano, and was in control of the Zona Norte district on his behalf, controlling retail drug sales in the profitable area.

Toscano and Los Litos run by the Garcia brothers were said to have been engaging in a feud for control.  'El Mono' was 34 years old, and a native of Manzanillo, Colima.  Information taken from the arrest of Sales Quiones resulted in the arrest.

In August, Alfredo Meza Garcia, 'El Tacks', was arrested, with extradition warrants from both the DEA, and the ICE.  Meza Garcia was said to be a principal lieutenant of Sanchez Arellano.  As of October 2012, authorties state 15 lieutenants or important arrests have been made, 455,000 grams of marijuana seized, roughly 3,0000 grams of crystal, and eleven vehicles, as well as over 100,000 US dollars.  Several things are left out of this presentation including cocaine seizures, and weapons seizures.

" Anonymous Experts" Says Body May Not be Lazca

I am not sure where this came from but will let you know soon

Here is an article that feeds the fake Lazca theory.  Unfortunately these are anonymous sources and unfortunately the provided no evidence to back up their claims.  I had an opportunity to see the software in action resizing for "facial Recognition Technique" photo feature layering and measurement at a head and neck reconstructive surgeons office.  the Measurement between eyes and nostrils etc matched, the only thing we could not see were the ears.  The ears do change as a person ages they elongate.  The most comprehensive study was at the Medical Branch of the University of Rostock in Germany in which they followed children as they aged and thee findings concluded the width remains the same but slowly and steadily ears grow in length.

I will say autopsy reports are notoriously in the eye of the beholder, my fathers had errors in his height and included a remark he had a gall bladder surgical scar.  He had no such scar.  My brother was killed and during the trial there were the findings of our private autopsy, Los Angeles county medical examiner, and a third was the defendants own private autopsy.  None matched.

In this case the anonymous experts were not given any evidence nor spoken to anyone connected to the case, but used the same evidence posted here on BB photos and autopsy report, but with an expert eye.  If in fact they used photo comparative technology, it would have been impressive to include those photos with measurements in this report.  Perhaps that is why as they say no one believes them.  I do agree the bullet that remained in the head was a question in my mind, but I have no knowledge about the subject, maybe one of you can explain how a bullet would not exit, on the other hand the government gained nothing by saying either scenario of not exiting or exiting.

If the DNA is being studied using the DNA sequencing techniques, it will take up to 6 weeks.  United States is conducting the DNA testing as well as Mexico.

Have at it...and if I received a good amount of interesting points or personal history with autopsy error etc I will make a post with those....Paz, Chivis

According to forensic experts and forensic sciences working in the legal field consider  it untrue that the body presented by the Secretary of the Navy of Mexico (Semar) and the government of Coahuila as Heriberto Lazcano Lazcano actually corresponds to the leading Los Zetas.

A petition process, specialists from various institutions who requested anonymity made criminal identification using photographs of the corpse displayed by Semar and images in which the head of Los Zetas appears in life. This exercise is performed based on the coroner's report of the autopsy released by the press on Friday, 12.

"On October 7, 2012, in the amphitheater of the Funeral Garcia de Sabinas, Coahuila, says the document-the forensic medical expert PGJE (Attorney General of the State) the autopsy performed on the body of a person who had no name as (nn), issuing the coroner's autopsy as follows:

Consideration trauma "wound (caused) by firearm projectile caliber with inlet in occipital region, hosting the projectile at the base of the skull, in the front left, back to front path, bottom top and from left to right. "

A second wound "by firearm projectile caliber with inlet port in the back of the left parietal region and exit in right parietal region, which fractured the occipital bone," plus four others injured, also by firearm projectile, which in the opinion of the specialists are not causes of death: one in the right buttock, one on the left buttock, the fifth in the right pectoral region below the nipple-and sixth-right elbow .

- In the wound-number one found inconsistencies according to one of the experts.

-Yes. Because how can a large caliber bullet staying at the base of the skull? Normally, when this dimension projectiles go out, completely cross it because the power of destruction is very high. It is the same effect that humans have when we shot in the head, except in small sizes: the walls of the skull can withstand these impacts. However, Semar said sailors fired at a distance of 30 meters. Imagine the firepower with the gun designed to shoot that distance and hitting someone's head! It is not common. It is normal that the face of the body is completely clean.

-In the town of Progreso, where, according to authorities, Lazca was shot  , a witness told the newspaper Excelsior that one of those who executed the shot was forced to kneel and then shoot ...

-As we have no access to the rest of the information, especially the evidence that would allow us to reconstruct the event or at least look closer through the pictures and trace-says the  expert, we will not know whether or not these maneuvers were performed.

-If it was as she says, does your version fits the characteristics of some of the wounds?

-Matches the number one wound. I have him upside down and lying on the ground, it could agree. But again: we should have access to more documentation to look for other clues, such as traces of gunpowder or burns, because the body, or at least the part of it that show, no burns.

Manipulated images

Another consulted experts refers to the wound two:

"Necropsy entering said (a bullet caliber) in the back of the left parietal region and exits from the right-this is the bone region that lies above the ear, and that the outlet orifice in the right parietal region the occipital bone fracture. If one touches the back of the head, feel a lump, like a ball, that's the occipital bone, or the bullet penetrates and breaks the whole skull fracture this bone. And if you look at the pictures where the dead man appears and is seen lying right ear is not visible outlet. "

Shows images circulating on the Internet: "Look, he says, how the body is in position three quarters and shows clearly the right ear. And above it is the occipital bone where the bullet supposedly came out ... I do not see any hole. "

- What does this mean?

-That the images presented to the public are manipulated and were specially made to appear that the victim is t Lazca. However, the autopsy report and show us what the media is not what happened. Scientifically it is not possible to verify the identity of this subject so we are saying

Scientifically, the pictures we have do not match the ones we know of him. Imagine! It has spread to the Navy used weapons of 2.23 mm. With its destructive power, he would have blown his head. It's simple: do not match the weapons used by the injuries that the subject has died.

- What about the wound three?

-The rest of the injuries are not important for forensic use deadly because they kill. Significant are the head.

- These are the two wounds, comparing the photograph bodies, make us confident that this is not the same person?

-Yes. If you see the images of the subject, you will see that the regions in which they must appear injured, no injuries whatsoever.

-The Coahuila coroner stated that they were six, but five wounds, and said there were signs of plastic surgery in the ears. Is it logical for someone to operate  on the ears and not the rest of the face?

-Is illogical. Now you no longer have the body, how can you leave a doctor to say I had plastic surgery on ears, when I should have said from the beginning, and now the internet pictures removed so they do not see the comparison. The certificate must include the scars and wounds found on the subject.

-In some websites circulated a photograph of the body where it appears with the front part of the nose and dissolved, along with a wound in his lip. To which of the wounds of the corresponding autopsy?

'I should be the first, because when the projectile fired from a firearm enters the occipital region, ie in the neck, from the top down, the bullet hits the bone opposite, which is the frontal bone. But the subject that we have has no wound. Or we did a photoshop or a large theater.

Implausible scenarios

The experts consulted agreed to perform the analysis unofficially only "concern" forensics, to see if things are going well or badly.

- And how are you? -Asked a third expert.

-They were poorly made. Now, on the go, try to restore the situation.

- Lazcano Lazcano may not be dead?

-Until we have evidence of it, affirm it would fail to professional ethics.

Some experts performed a facial explanometría both the face of the corpse as a photograph taken when he lived Lazcano.

- What are the measurements? -Asked the experts.

-No match. The study is called facial explanometría perform certain measurements on the faces of people to try to identify those little features that are unique and that despite any operation is practiced, not change. They are perennial, says one of them.

Explain that these characteristics are the angle of the mouth, the size of the ears and cheekbones, and the "inputs" in the hair.

- What were the results?

-What causes us to doubt the position of the ears. They say they are operated, but still do not agree, because one thing is operated ears and another to rearrange them. The ears are in a different place. In vivo photo of ear level is above the elevation of the eye, while in the picture of the dead is still higher than the ear vivo.

On the corner of his mouth, overlays were made to suit a very obvious way, but in the photo of the subject when he was alive are smaller than the deceased.

As for the size of the cheek bones, these are more prominent in vivo than in dummy, "unless a doctor has recommended stoop bones, but is an operation that here in Mexico is not carried out, and I honestly do not think it's been practiced, "he says.

With respect to the "inputs", while similar, in the pictures of the living subject, are closer to the eyebrow, while the dead are more remote. I know it can be removed, but as it is a genetic trait, entries hair back into place.

-You were saying that these genetic traits do not change. Do not change when the person dies?

-No. Unless the body is rotten.  (or swollen)

- What is the conclusion you reached ?

That the subject that we are presenting as Heriberto Lazcano not him. Unless we have more items, more evidence and access to the file, we could change his mind. Until now, the scientific knowledge we have we can determine that they are not the same person.

- What generates this type of forensic errors?

-Most people do not believe us. There are cases where the public that have been well-publicized, such as the Paulette girl in the state of Mexico. You can not lose years of experience and study of mismanagement made of this information. Forensic experts are destroying us. Those situations discredit the forensic study and really have the interest that this is resolved fairly.

"I hope that forensic experts have an important place in these situations and that the Mexican government to turn the science view. Left to lucubrations, stories and deceive them selves. And that science permeates criminal investigations as in the whole world, except in Mexico, ".

El Chapo's 31 yr. Old Daughter Held in San Diego

SAN DIEGO — U.S. officials say the daughter of one of the world’s most sought-after drug lords has been arrested on suspicion of trying to enter the United States on someone else’s passport.

Alejandrina Gisselle Guzman Salazar at 31
Alejandrina Gisselle Guzman Salazar was arrested Friday at San Diego’s San Ysidro port of entry and charged with fraud and misuse of visas, permits and other documents.

Two U.S. officials said Monday that she told authorities her father was Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman, leader of Mexico’s Sinaloa cartel. The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the arrest publicly.

A woman under that name has been charged in federal court in San Diego. Kelly Thornton, a spokeswoman for the U.S. attorney’s office, said she could not confirm that the woman charged was Guzman’s daughter.
Alejandrina Gisselle Guzman Salazar
The daughter of one of the world's most sought-after drug lords, Joaquín "El Chapo" Guzmán, has been charged with trying to enter the United States on someone else's passport.

Alejandrina Gisselle Guzmán Salazar, 31, was arrested Friday at San Diego's San Ysidro port of entry.

Guzmán Salazar appeared Monday morning at the downtown federal courthouse in a hearing held under heightened security. The Los Angeles Times reported Tuesday that Guzmán Salazar's attorneys are Jan Ronis and Guadalupe Valencia, both known for representing high-profile drug trafficking figures. According to the report, the lawyers said that Guzmán Salazar is a medical doctor from Guadalajara who is seven months pregnant.
The significance of the arrest will depend on what Guzmán Salazar can tell authorities about her father, such as whether she can provide phone numbers, said David Shirk, director of the University of San Diego's Trans-Border Institute.

"We don't know exactly what she knows," said Shirk. "It may just be an interesting factoid in the war on drugs or it could be a vital clue for law enforcement."
Shirk noted that Benjamin Arellano Felix, who led what was then Mexico's most powerful drug cartel, was captured in Mexico in 2002 after authorities tracked his daughter to find him.
Guzmán Salazar was charged with fraud and misuse of visas, permits and other documents. The complaint said she attempted to enter the country on foot, presenting a non-immigrant visa contained in a Mexican passport. She told authorities she was pregnant and intended to go to Los Angeles to give birth to her child.
The Los Angeles Times reported last year that Guzmán's wife - former beauty queen Emma Coronel - traveled to Southern California and gave birth to twin girls at Antelope Valley Hospital in Lancaster, north of Los Angeles. The newspaper said Coronel, then 22, holds U.S. citizenship, which entitles her to travel freely to the U.S. and to use its hospitals.
"You kind of surmise that there's some family connection back to Southern California," Eric Olson, associate director of the Wilson Center's Mexico Institute said of the daughter's arrest.
The Sinaloa cartel, named after the Pacific coast state of the same name, controls trafficking along much of the U.S. border with Mexico, particularly in Western states.
Authorities in the U.S. and Mexico have said they believe Guzmán has children with several partners, though it's not clear how many. The U.S. Treasury Department has put sanctions on sons Iván Archivaldo "El Chapito" Guzmán Salazar, 31, and Ovidio Guzmán López, 22.
Jesus Alfredo Guzmán Salazar, 26, was indicted with his father on multiple drug trafficking charges in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois in August 2009.
Last month, the U.S. Treasury Department said it was placing financial sanctions on Guzmán's wife, Griselda Lopez Perez. The department said at the time that she "plays a key role" in the Sinaloa cartel.

Lopez Perez was the second wife of Guzmán designated under the U.S. Kingpin Act, which bars U.S. citizens from making business transactions with that person and allows authorities to freeze their assets in the United States.

In June, the department imposed sanctions on Maria Alejandrina Hernández Salazar, who it also described as a wife of Guzmán.

The arrest and investigation of Guzmán Salazar was handled by U.S. Customs and Border Protection, which oversees the nation's largest border crossing in San Diego.

Manuel Torres Felix contacts "el Mayo" with a last word from the grave
Clear "narconotas" "fingering" Ismael "El Mayo" Zambada appeared early this morning in different parts of the city of Culiacan, Sinaloa.   The messages accuse "el Mayo" one of the leaders of Cartel de Sinaloa, of betraying his alleged right hand man cell leader Manuel Torres Felix as well as Mario Aguirre and Lamberto Verdurgo.

"Mayo me dejaste sola ya traias el plan de chingarme a igual a Mario Aguirre y Lamberto Verdurgo y asi presentar trabajo a no los chinguen a UDS pero ya luego te espero  en el infierno.  Attn Manuel Torres"

"Mayo you left me alone you already had the plan to fuck me, Mario Aguirre y Lamberto Verdugo, showing (to show or present) work (doing your work for) to the United States so you won't get fucked Then I'll wait for you or expect you in hell Attn: Manuel Torres"

Ironically the banners are signed by Manuel Torres Felix better known as "el Ondeado" or "M1."  Manuel Torres Felix was killed in an alleged confrontation with military personnel last Saturday, October 13. There have been reports that Torres Felix had been killed and delivered to the military.

The Narcomantas were found on footbridges on Emiliano Zapata in the vicinity of Lomas Boulevard more at the foot of of "La Lomita" Catholic Church and another by  the Military College on Calzada Heroico. (PME) made quick work of removing the narcomantas from their locations.

Translated by un vato for Borderland Beat

Not wanting a repeat embarrassment as in the Lazcano killing, Torres' body is
being fully guarded at the Sinaloa medical examiners office (el pais)
He confronts the Army in the Valle de San Lorenzo
For Manuel Torres, "Manuelon", "El Ondeado" or "El M1", the insomnia ended. In the early dawn on Saturday, October 12, 2012, he died during a confrontation with Army special forces.

They hunted him down like the wildcat that he was. Spotlighted at night on a road close to Oso Viejo, Quila, he wasn't able to get away this time like he did so many other times when, by blood and fire, he was able to flee to hide in his dens and his hills.

According to the first versions of the facts, some gathered by reporters who arrived at dawn to the Valle de San Lorenzo and some communicated unofficially by the military itself, Manuel Torres, accompanied by a strong group of bodyguards, met up with federal forces and tried to evade them. But they had him surrounded. For several days, special forces, supported by the 9th Military Zone, had seeded personnel throughout the area. At dawn that day, a contingent of soldiers came in through Tacuichamona headed towards Oso Viejo, and a similar force came down from Quila, forming an impassable pincers, even though Torres knew the terrain like the palm of his hand.

The moment they clashed, Manuel Torres got down off the vehicle he was riding and tried to flee through the hills. But he was hit by gunshots. He fell right there.

They took two .38 Super pistols and seven unfired .22 cartridges from him. The Attorney General, Marco Antonio Higuera Gomez, revealed that (Torres) had on him $9,980 dollars and 23,500 pesos, plus portions of a white powder, apparently cocaine.

Although official reports do not mention detainees, RioDoce sources assure (the journal) that there were many.

Black death card

Sinaloa had never know such a bloodthirsty drug trafficking operator. They're in all the gangs; his brother Javier Torres, in prison in the United States, where he's serving a sentence for drug trafficking, also confronted the Mexican Army, and in that incident a soldier died. Then, his own bosses gave him up and he was extradited.

Javier Torres was one of Ismael Zambada Garcia, "El Mayo's," top lieutenants. And, although Manuel Torres never attained the same standing in the structure, he was a key player in the organization after the war broke out in the Sinaloa cartel.

Manuel Torres took on the job of confronting, with blood and knife, the new enemies of Zambada and Joaquin Guzman: the Beltran Leyva brothers.

Hundreds of deaths are attributed to commandos led by Manuel Torres, who rightly earned the pseudonym of "El Ondeado" because of his lack of emotional stability.

He didn't discriminate. It was all about taking care of the plaza for the one who had always owned it, and he acted without any consideration. Thus, police from all agencies fell, and even some military personnel who dared invade his territory, losses that the Army never reported.

From the start of the war in 2008, the Torres (brothers) were the target of attacks from their new enemies, largely by means of a group called "Los Charritos," linked to the Araujo family, whose principal pillar of support was Gonzalo, "El Chalo" Araujo.

On April 4, with hostilities barely begun, young Joel Torres Jimenez, son of "El JT," was attacked outside a pool hall located in the Colonia Guadalupe Victoria. He was 19 years old, and he survived.

A few weeks later, April 18, another Torres, this one the son of Manuel, Atanasio Torres Acosta, "El Tachio", was murdered.  This happened right beside the buildings of the Health Ministry, in the Montebello residential district.

Police located one of the vehicles apparently used by the gunmen. A red Tsuru [Mexico's version of the Nissan Sentra.-- un vato], where they found AK 47 rifles with a message: "From your compadre and his Z nephews. So you will remember, Manuel Torres."

"El M1" went crazy with the death of his son, whose wake was held in one of his houses in the valley. That same night and the next day while they were keeping vigil over Atanasio's body, Manuel Torres was taking his revenge on young men that his gunmen were picking up and taking to his home for him to torture.

Nothing stopped him. All over the city, headless corpses started to appear, mutilated, with messages alluding to Tachio's murder. No death, no limit, could contain his thirst for vengeance until his death, Saturday at dawn.

The cartels were at war, but he was fighting his own war in the name of the affront he had suffered.

At the place where his son was murdered, they started throwing decapitated bodies, one of them that of Barcelo Villagran, who had been the commander of the Ministerial Police and chief of the Centauro Group. They amputated both legs, decapitated him and cut open his back with a knife while he was still alive.

Manuel Torres Felix was not even in the files of the PGR, much less in those of the State Department of Justice, when, on June 1, 2011, Barack Obama designated him, along with Gonzalo Inzunza Inzunza, "El Macho Prieto," as drug traffickers subject to the Kingpin Statute. This law targets drug trafficking bosses ("kingpins"), allowing the North American Government to freeze foreigners' bank accounts and businesses.

In Sinaloa, the Justice Department has in its files an old conviction on Manuel Torres, "since snakes walked upright" (very old, indeed), for carrying a firearm. But nothing else.

Manuel Torres died a natural death. On the run since President Calderon began his war, he did not rest. He lived in the hills, in the valleys and rarely came down to the city. He mistrusted even his shadow. He would go two, three nights without sleep, always alert.

Two weeks ago, a bee swarm attacked him and he had to be transferred to Culiacan, where they were barely able to save his life after hundreds of bees stung him. It wasn't his turn to live. He had one fate: El que a cuchillo mata, a cuchillo muere. Live by the sword, die by the sword.

Mexican Army units at the time discovered 14 mass graves near the village of Las Negritas in late July, 2011.

On Tuesday morning, a unit of the Proteccion Civil staff from Fresnillo municipality located 11 metal drums and several clothing items near Rancho Los Angeles, which is in Calera municipality and near Los Negritos.  The drums were rusted and had been perforated with gunshots.

A Mexican Naval Infantry unit was later called to the location to  assist in the search for graves.

Nahle Garcia later released information that the drums did not appear to have any genetic material or remains, but were slated to be tested.

The original find in late July was made just after a large counternarcotics operation involving Mexican Army, Mexican Navy and Policia Federal troops ended in Jalisco and Zacatecas states in June, 2011.

Meanwhile, two unidentified armed suspects were killed in an armed encounter with a Mexican Army unit in Panfilo Natera municipality late Monday morning.
