13 Cartel del Golfo detained in Reynosa

State Police detained 13 alleged members of the Cartel del Golfo in Reynosa, Tamaulipas. Those detained were aboard 3 vehicles, they were carrying firearms, radios, and drugs.

In a communication, the Group for Coordination in Tamaulipas informed that the detained were Arturo Macias Solis, Jose Carlos Quintero Renteria, Ulises Esuat Betancourt Azua, David Alejandro Lopez Montoya, Jose Maximo Salgado Ruiz, Jose Francisco Gomez Trevino, Jose Manuel Caldera Rios, Luis Pablo Reyes Gomez, Daniel Wing Carmano, Brayan Juan Raymundo Ignacio, Eduardo Gomez Martinez, Martin Gomez Gonzalez and Janeth Araceli Ruiz Reyes.


At the moment of their detention in the Fraccionamiento San Valentin, the criminals were dedicated to halcon (hawk) (lookout) activities in this frontier town for the Cartel del Golfo.

In their declarations before a Public Ministry Agent, Jose Manuel Caldera Rios said that he had been recruited from prison.

The State Police confiscated 6 rifles, 6 kilos of marijuana, three radios, 1233 rounds of different calibre's, 45 metal tyre puncturing spikes, and 56 magazines.

The 3 vehicles confiscated were and black Ford Expedition with Texas plates, a green Grand Caravan with Texas plates and a black Toyota Runner SR5.

The detained, among them two men of Guatemalan nationality, were put at the disposition of the Public Ministry.
